Leaking seams

Sagging gutters & loose hangers
A gutter should hold its shape and drain toward the downspout.
When hangers loosen or pull away, the gutter can begin to sag. That changes the slope and can leave water sitting where it shouldn’t.
We’ll check the gutter, hangers, and the material they’re attached to.
If the surrounding structure is solid, we may be able to re-secure and re-slope the gutter.
If the wood behind it has deteriorated, that’s a different problem—and we’ll tell you.
Standing water
Water that doesn’t drain properly usually points to a problem somewhere in the system.
It could be debris, a blocked outlet, a downspout issue, or a gutter that has lost its proper slope.
We’ll look at the whole section rather than simply treating the standing water as the problem.

Repair or replacement?
This is one of the most useful questions we can answer.
If one seam is leaking or a couple of hangers have come loose, repairing the affected area can make perfect sense.
If several sections are failing, corrosion is widespread, or the material behind the gutter can no longer hold the system securely, replacement may be the better long-term option.
We won’t recommend replacing a gutter that can be properly repaired.
And if replacement really is the better choice, we’ll explain why.
